Meet Erin

Meet the woman changing the old & boring stereotypes about accounting. As Founder & Visionary of UpKeeping®, Erin has found her calling in helping business owners truly understand their business finances. With twenty years in the public, private, non-profit, and educational accounting spheres, Erin supports entrepreneurs and already-established small business owners by being their #1 financial cheerleader/concierge/communicator. She holds an MS in Accounting from Liberty University, a BS in Accounting from the University of Maryland, and is a CPA candidate.

When she’s not trying to make accounting more “fun”, Erin loves traveling the world with her family, chauffeuring her two kids all over the city, boating around Lake Union, and convincing accounting students & professionals that owning a bookkeeping business is the American dream. She’s also, heartbreakingly, a Cleveland Browns fan.

Meet The Team

At UpKeeping, our team is a small and mighty group of accounting experts dedicated to making your financial processes seamless and stress-free. We combine our skills and creativity to support your business goals, ensuring you have the insights and confidence to succeed.

  • After nearly a decade in the finance industry, Kristen took a break to stay home and raise her two girls.  Before she settled down to raise her little family she worked for a wealth management firm for 5+ years in downtown Seattle.  Prior to that, she worked for several different financial venues in Bellingham where she was born and raised.  Now that her girls are in school, she is happy to be back working in the financial realm.

    When she’s not homeschooling or perfecting her sourdough recipes, she enjoys outdoor adventures and camping with her family, gardening, cooking and baking with her girls and working on home projects with her husband, Ben.  

  • Katie is a Senior Accountant and Accounting Manager at Upkeeping, based in Northern Indiana. With over 15 years of bookkeeping and business management experience, she supports business owners with accurate bookkeeping, strong systems, and steady financial leadership. Using her deep experience managing complex books and overseeing multi-client workflows, she specializes in cleanups, process improvement, and building reliable accounting structures that support long-term growth.

    Known for her calm, detail-driven approach, Katie excels at bringing order to complexity and helping both clients and internal teams work with clarity and confidence. She views bookkeeping as an act of stewardship—approaching every set of books with integrity, consistency, and care so business owners can make informed decisions and focus on what matters most.

    When she’s not working behind the scenes, Katie enjoys homesteading, holistic health practices, staying organized, and unwinding with a crochet project in hand.

  • After two decades of people management and owning and operating my own business I am thrilled to be working behind the scenes while working on my bachelor's degree in international accounting with a certificate in forensic accounting. I love to dig in the numbers and let them tell me a story.

    When I am not crunching numbers, I enjoy spending time in my large vegetable and flower garden with my husband and 7 year old daughter. It truly is a pleasure working for a company that values their clients and employees in a progressive way. I am so glad we get to do this work so clients can focus on what makes them happy in their businesses!
